ABOUT

I'm an                   Certified Industrial Hygienist

I started working with my father in his environmental company. He was focused in various areas of health and safety that pertained to asbestos, lead, mold, and industrial hygiene. I have been working with him for over 20 years, starting from filing, hole-punching reports, and gather office supplies.  I now help him with inspections, collecting samples, and writing reports.

 

I decided to start my company to focus on protecting the health and safety of lab personnel and the environment.  This decision was made during my days of being a Master's student and working inside a toxicology lab.  We were focused on determining the metabolic route of heavy metals in....write that we wanted to stay focus to find the route and we didnt want our focus to be on safety, but just on our experiement.

 

biological mechanism During my last year of school I received a project with the Long Beach Unified School District to inspect their science classrooms and chemical storage room.  I was also asked to review their Chemical Hygiene Plan and Approved Chemical List.  and continued working in labs have a Master's of Science Degree in Environmental and Occupational Health.  I have been working as a health and safety professional for over 8 years. I have and continue to manage and participate in a diverse set of health and safety projects.  My projects range from:

  • Performing health and safety trainings

  • Developing health and safety plans

  • Conducting work practice safety and health assessments

  • Managing health and safety abatement and renovation projects

  • Analyzing hazardous waste results

  • Determining future costs of disposal, storage, and transportation of hazardous waste

Project Experience

iV Fundamentals has assisted clients with developing and managing the following projects:

  • Managed lead stabilization activities for K-8, Middle, and High Schools for a school district in Southern California.

  • Developed a Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plan for a transportation facility.

  • Developed and reviewed Hazardous Materials Business Plans for County Certified Unified Program Agency (CUPA) requirements.

  • Performed work practice assessments for a Pest Control Program and a Swimming Pool Attendant.

  • Performed indoor air quality assessments that tested areas for mold, allergens, formaldehyde, CO2, and CO. 

  • Inspected science classrooms and chemical storage rooms for schools in Southern California.

  • Characterized chemical waste for lab packs

  • Trained workforces on health and safety topics that include:

    • Asbestos awareness

    • Hazardous Communication Standard/Global Harmonizing System

    • Bloodborne Pathogens Standard

    • Heat Illness Prevention Standard

    • Respiratory Protection Standard + Fit Testing

  • Developed a six hour school district-wide science safety training course.
